Kiss Your Miracle

motherhood after infertility

The newborn days are simple days. Lack of sleep makes everything a bit hazy, but it really doesn’t matter too much since I have nowhere to go and nothing on my agenda. Just hanging out with my mom and sisters, Sky and Micah. And nursing. Lots and lots of nursing. I should probably be napping more to make up for not sleeping much at night. There are plenty of helping hands here to make that possible. But it’s just too nice to have my family around, and even though I’m exhausted, I’d rather sit on the couch with a cup coffee and chat than go into the bedroom to sleep. There is a part of me that can’t help but look forward to that night somewhere down the road when I’ll get to sleep for eight consecutive hours again. But these days are wonderful in their own way and I plan to appreciate each one.

I remember Aron sending me to bed, as I had been too bust enjoying the company and feeling the need to entertain- she was right!- I slept hard, and boy did I miss the opportunity when everyone went home.
But you can’t really stockpile sleep, memories, however are made to be gathered and collected.

I’m glad the nursing seems to be going well for you this time around. He seems to be a peaceful child, (at least in his photos)
    God Bless.

There is nothing like a sleeping baby, so cute and cuddly!! I too loved the excitement a new baby brings to the house, so much so that you don’t even want to nap even if you can. That is a really great stage!!! Have fun with your family there :)

I’m the same way! To excited with the visitors and company to sleep :) This time around for me might be a little different though…

Micah is so beautiful and already reminds me of the way Skylar looked as a newborn.

So happy for you to have your family with you!
And for a calmer baby with being able to breastfeed. God has been merciful with gracing both of you with a bit more peaceful transition than with Skylar’s arrival into this world. I think the second one is easier because we know what lies ahead and that the frenzied moments will pass.

He is just beautiful! I’m so glad you get to have this time with your family, and can enjoy it all even through the sleep-haze. So many great memories you are storing up!
